We have a big line-up of events and activities planned for Semester 2 which we hope to see you at.
For starters we have our first meeting of the semester, a film screening of Life of Brian, this Monday July 28th, in DB23-004 at 7PM. Entry is free and food will be provided. Bring a friend and join us for a great night!
This Wednesday July 30th we will have a stall at the JCU Clubs and Societies market day from 10AM-2PM so come on down for a chat and some free stuff!
On Friday August 1st at 1PM our inaugural Skeptics at the Pub meeting will be held at the JCU Uni Club. We will be starting our “Coexist” discussion series on comparative religions over lunch and drinks – don’t miss it!
Our regular monthly meetings will continue at 7PM, DB23-004, on the first Monday of the month, and Skeptics at the Pub will continue to meet weekly at 1PM each Friday afternoon at the Uni Club.
First of all, a huge thank you to all those who helped with organising last week’s Reason Week events.
Thank you also to our great speakers – Michael and Joel for your lecture on Wednesday, Tim Earnshaw and Tim Saunders for the debate on Thursday night, and our panelists and moderator at Friday night’s discussion: Sam, Liam, Duncan and Rishabh.
Finally, thank you to all of you who came along to the events, whether you came to just one night or made it to all three your interest and enthusiasm for talking about big philosophical, political and spiritual questions was great to see!
If you’re keen to discuss any of the issues raised over the course of the week further, don’t forget to come to our monthly discussion meeting, which will be held later this month on Monday the 16th at 7PM in DB23-004. Good discussions will be had and free pizza will be available!
